Agro ecology, Baccalaureatus in Scientiis (BS) and Environmental Engineering, with sustainable developing emphasis of the tropical regions.(2011 Program).

Presentation:

The present document contains the main elements of pensa of studies of the intermediate career of Agro ecology and the terminal of the degree in Environmental Engineering, in the scope of pre degree and university degree, respectively.

a) Agro ecology:

This intermediate career has like purpose of forming professionals with knowledge, practical abilities and skills, based on guaranteeing the sustainability of the agricultural and forest production systems of the country. It qualifies to the graduated one to continue with the terminal career of Environmental Engineering.

Title: Agro ecologist

Academic level: Pre University degree

Duration: 4 semesters

b) Baccalaureatus in Scientiis (BS)

This title qualifies to continue studies of master’s and doctorate. Is not school able in Guatemala. One orients those people who do not wish to exert in the scope of degree, but that they look for to specialize and to professionalize themselves, in the mentioned academic levels.

Academic title and degree:  Baccalaureatus in Scientiis (BS) in Environmental Engineering

Duration: 8 semesters

Emphasis: In sustainable development of the tropical regions.

c) Environmental engineering:

This career, must count on previous preparation in agro ecology, complementing it with knowledge for the design of models and systems for the sustainable handling of the tropical regions.

Title: Environmental Engineer

Academic level: Bachelor in Environmental Sciences

Duration: 8 semesters, and general examinations of for graduation.

Emphasis: In sustainable development of the tropical regions.
